Are you interested in getting involved in your community? If you live in the Buda City Limits or Buda’s Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ), we’ve got a couple of ways for you to start! There are openings on both the Library Commission and the Planning and Zoning Commission. Fill out the application at http://ci.buda.tx.us/files/application-commission-board-7-2010.pdf to be considered for one of these openings.
The Library Commission meets on the second Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm in the library’s meeting room. Commissioners of this advisory board stay educated about library activities and issues so that they can advocate for the library. They offer input on library policies and planning and work on other projects as assigned by City Council. Call or email Library Director Melinda Hodges with any questions – 512-295-5899 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Planning and Zoning Commission meets the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 in the City Council Chambers. They serve as an advisory board to the City Council in matters related to ensuring planned and purposeful development of the City of Buda and its ETJ. They protect the integrity of Buda’s natural resources and its neighborhoods and enforce State and local statutes and ordinances. Call or email Assistant City Manager Brian LaBorde with any questions – 512-312-0084 or email@example.com.
