Farewell to Summer and Back to School!

We love summer at the Buda Public Library! We love all the great classes, seeing everyone’s bright shining faces and getting to know new people. We especially love how much everyone reads! From June 4th to August 4th, the children of the library read 14,187 books and 292,862 minutes. The library’s teens also did a great job, reading 133,020 minutes and created reviews, art work, book trailers and other projects inspired by their reading. Thanks to everyone that donated prizes, led programs, and helped us out this summer. We couldn’t have made it without you!

The Buda Public Library has many resources to help students of all ages succeed! ePrep prepares students for the SAT, ACT, PSAT, and more. The TexShare Databases have articles from over 15,000 journals, 2,500 newspapers, and 30,000 books, ranging from elementary level to scholarly. We have all books on the Texas 2×2, Bluebonnet, and Lone Star recommended reading lists. For distance learners, the Library has computers, free WiFi and will proctor tests for free.

Ever thought of volunteering at the library? We’re looking for some special volunteers to lead some new programs, such as ESL classes, Spanish classes, bilingual storytimes and a weekly storytime on Saturdays. Let Melinda know if you’re interested.

Storytimes start again the first full week of September.
Toddler Storytime: Tuesdays at 10:30 for 18-36 month olds
Homeschool Storytime: Tuesdays at 1:30 for kindergarten-5th graders
Preschool Storytimes: Wednesday at 10:30 for 3-5 year olds
